happy #worldmentalhealthday!! to me, everyday is about mental health... my mental health and those around me.
meetings, sharing, writing, therapy, meditation, prayer, physical activities, healthy food, conversations, connections... what do i need to do today for my mental health? what do we need to do as a culture to be better about this?
i believe empathy and education are the bridges between mental health and stigma. there is either more mental illness today or just more we know about it, but it’s everywhere and in some form inside everyone.
please be kinder. please be more compassionate. everyone is battling something and you can’t ever know what it is from the outside.
my wish for us is that we never stop seeking, we never stop growing, we never stop trying to learn and that we are never ever ever ashamed.
may we all learn to love ourselves the way our mothers love and loved us. THAT is what i wish for on world mental health day.
